Crash Course Weekend has just ended. It went by very fast, but so many things happened in such a short time! There were lots of funny stories and questions about the differences between America and Germany. More importantly, there were lots of discussions about “Our Calling” and how we can best use our skills to serve God and tell others about Jesus. Even with the language gap, we still all connected very quickly and no one was left out.
Crash Weekend has been filled with lessons, talks from missionaries, and working through real scenarios that we might encounter on the mission field.
Everyone there was prepared to serve God. Some will not be leaving for the mission field until spring 2023 and some are leaving next month. We were all able to share the common bond of taking time to put God first.
One of the lessons was about knowing “Our Calling”. How do we know being a missionary is what God wants from us? One thing that was mentioned was concerning Paul. He was one of the first missionaries, yet he never stayed in one country doing one thing for more than a couple of years at a time. My view of what it means to be a missionary has changed after noticing that. You are not any less a missionary and a servant of God if you travel from one place to the next on short trips than if you were to commit your whole life to living in Africa.
God was working in all of our hearts as we learned how different countries and cultures receive the Gospel. The way we share the good news may need to be adjusted from place to place, but the meaning behind it always stays the same: “God wants you and Jesus died so you can be with him”.
One of my favorite parts of the weekend was our group worship time. We had songs that I knew but, had both German and English lyrics. When I first saw that we would be singing both languages at the same time, I thought it wouldn’t sound any good. It amazed me how beautiful it sounded! We sang different words, but the meaning behind it was still the same praise to our God.
I feel excited to go and serve in Albania and more prepared for what’s to come!
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me this whole time. I am so blessed I have a community of support back in the states. Please continue to pray for me and all of the people my age, making decisions to serve Christ! We have a strong hope because we know our Redeemer lives!
Job 19:25 “I know that my Redeemer lives and that in the end he will stand on the earth.”

Hannah, I am so excited for you and the up coming mission you are preparing for. You are a light wherever you serve. I am praying for you and asking Our Lord to keep you healthy and safe as you serve in the coming months. I feel you will come away with as big a blessing as you are passing onto to those you come in contact with sharing the beautiful love of Jesus. Thank you for allowing us this “window” into your venture…Many Blessings๐ฅฐ
Thank you so much Sarah!
Praying for you!
Thank you ๐
Dear Sweet Hannah, Seems God has been preparing you for this for years. He has called you and you answered. He will bless you greatly through this. We love you and glad to “be your people”
Thank you! I know I can always count on you guys ๐
Hannah, I am excited to see how God is going to use you in amazing ways. Loved reading about singing the same song in German and English. That is such a beautiful illustration of how God’s love through Jesus Christ is not bound by diversity, IT SOARS! You are in my prayers!
Thank you very much Pastor Dan!!
